The RAILS Band Gig Diary – Entry #75 Show Date: December 6, 2009. Venue: The Library
Jeremy got a message from the head librarian of ‘The Library’, Athena Elton, and he was nervous that it was about some unpaid fines for overdue books. But he was relieved to hear that she was inviting us to perform in her unique club, “an institution devoted to indie rock and the written word”. We were happy to do the show and have got to say that this was certainly one of the most fun times we’ve ever had at a library!
Unfortunately, when we went to return the books we borrowed, we found that it was no more. It had shut it’s doors. Turns out that we were the last band to play at the club, for which we are grateful.
Our show there was a very good time though, and the build was beautifully done, with stacks of books and comfy chairs. I guess it goes to show that things here in sl are temporary .. before you know it, something you’ve been meaning to see or hear, is gone before you’ve had a chance.
Are you as tired of reading as we are? Well on that note then, I’ll close by saying thanks very much to Athena for inviting us to play and to the people who came to the show.
