The RAILS Band Gig Diary – Entry #15-2010 Show Date: March 13, 2010. Venue: The Bushy Beard Pub
This was a very special show for us. All four Rails came to SL for the first time ever on a Saturday, in honour of the final farewell of The Bushy Beard Pub. Adding to the fun of the night, was dancing to the musical selections of a favourite SL disc jockey, Plastique Munro.
Readers of this blog know how much this venue meant to us throughout our 3 years performing in SL. In fact, bass player Jill Garnet played her very first note with the band at a show held at The Bushy!
The regulars at the pub were so friendly and witty. The term ‘laugh out loud’ was used often and with meaning. Music was central and we were touched to have been invited to perform there so frequently.
They really made us feel like rock stars! And as such …
We get the red carpet treatment!
Our ride is a stretch limousine!
Shows are followed by delicious food in the green room.
Why, we even live in a castle.
And when on the road, we stay in swanky hotels.
[Aside: when we were taking this photo, two very scantily dressed avatars climbed the stairs behind us. After looking around a bit they came back down and the guy asked us if we knew where the rooms were.]
Ahhhh, this is the (Second) life.
Many thanks to Zila Silvansky for booking us as the final act to grace the stage at The Bushy Beard Pub. And also, a last thank you to the bushy landlady, Zeeblebob Voss , club owner Artefax Jericho , and the pub regulars who came to so many of our shows there, including Brucie Lusch, Steve Raymond, Gloria Sempati, Stilgar Fizgig, Plastique Munro, Jazz Ray, Lahoha Chestnut and all the other Bushies.
