That is, we were feeling like wearing blue for our show last Wednesday.

Well, truth be told, I am also feeling a bit blue because this is one of our bass player, Jill Garnet’s last Second Life shows with us for the time being. You see, our Weekly-Wednesday shows were held at 5 pm our time. I think we were very lucky going a whole two years being able to have all four members of the band available to play at that time of day on a workday, as we do have day jobs! It just worked out that on Wednesday’s we could tweak our schedules in order to get together for this late afternoon show.
Now Jill has gotten a different job and telling a new employer that you have to leave early every Wednesday because you have a show with your rock band, is just not on. Then try explaining that said show is held in a virtual world, the timing of which is aimed at an audience who live far far away.
We have always enjoyed performing in this time slot for our European fans, who listen and socialize with us on-line right before their bedtime. I like to think that they are humming our tunes as they drift off to sleep.
Jill says she enjoys playing with the band in Second Life though, so once she gets her new job well underway, we will find a new time slot to play. One that will be convenient for a whole new audience in Canada and the United States. This prospect is very exciting!
As for the rest of us, Jeremy, Chops and I will continue on with the weekly Wednesday afternoon shows, but we will surely miss the wicked baseline and cool harmonies that Jill brings to the party, not to mention the funny stories and jokes she shares with us and the audience.
There are three more shows with Jill to go … Catch The Rails Band at a foursome at The Notes Shack Pub tomorrow, June 6th, then again on the 13th and the 20th.
