The RAILS Band Gig Diary - Entry #3-2010 Show Date: January 14, 2010.  Venue: The Rails Nightclub

This show was during a week that was filled with the topic of photography for us, both in real life and Second Life.  In rl we had meetings with a photographer and videographer, discussing plans for a professional shoot of the band, scheduled for the end of the month.  And in Second Life, we met with photographer Kaela Kilara, of Music Matters Magazine, to take pictures to illustrate an upcoming article featuring an interview with band leader Jeremy Barracuda.

Suffice it to say, we had our ‘picture faces’ on this week!  So in sticking with the theme …

Drummer, Chops Baxton, slips into the photo booth, created by Nylon Pinkney, located at the Secret Squirrel Cafe, owned by Mossflower Schumann.

Then we headed over to the camera shop called Specturm Studios, by Dizzie Jigsaw, who made the umbrella lamp.

Bass player, Jill Garnet, hops onto the pose stand at XuXorr, a complementary public studio offered by Jojo Evans.

Many content creators in Second Life make cool gadgets and props for taking pictures.  Jill is perched in a frame by Mahimaro Oh of On The Cover ; Lolly uses a posing Bar Stool made by Rogan Diesel of Diesel Works ; Jeremy holds a random frame using a pose by Katey Coppola of Glitterati ; and Chops reads in a posing cube made by Winona Wiefel of PRIME Furniture.  The lily in the vase is by kit Pizzicato of chronokit.

We finished up our session using a really neat photo booth, made by Radio Signals of Scribble, located at a sim of the same name.  It allows for all kinds of poses, backgrounds and frame textures, with a click of the mouse ; very well made and a lot of fun to use.  Plus, the talented creator was so sweet about letting us take our time with it!
